1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using services provided by Second Origin, you agree to these Terms of Service. Services include applied behavior analysis, behaviour-analytic clinical consultation, and related supports delivered in person, virtually, or in community/school settings.
If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use our services.
2. Eligibility for Services
Services are available to individuals and organizations who complete intake, provide required information, and sign a Service Agreement & Consent Form.
Clients under 18 require a parent/guardian’s consent.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if safety, ethical, or legal concerns arise.
3. Scope of Services
We provide:
All services are delivered in compliance with professional codes of ethics (BACB, CPBAO, and state/provincial licensing requirements).
4. Fees and Payment
Fees vary depending on service type (clinical, consultative, insurance, corporate).
Payment terms will be outlined in your signed Service Agreement.
Late payments may result in suspension of services until payment is received.
Some services may be eligible for insurance reimbursement; however, clients are responsible for confirming coverage.
5. Confidentiality
All information shared is confidential, subject to our Privacy Policy.
Confidentiality may be broken only when required by law (e.g., safety concerns, abuse reporting, court order).
6. Communication
Communication may occur by phone, email, text, or secure virtual platforms.
Clients are responsible for informing us if they prefer certain communication methods.
While we use secure systems, no electronic method is 100% risk-free.
Clients acknowledge that text messaging is an unsecured form of communication.
7. Client Responsibilities
Clients (or their guardians) agree to:
Provide accurate and up-to-date information.
Attend scheduled sessions or provide advance notice for cancellations.
Participate actively in treatment planning and follow-through.
Respect professional boundaries and staff safety.
8. Limitation of Liability
Services are evidence-based; however, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Origin is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for professional misconduct, gross negligence, or obligations that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Termination of Services
Clients may withdraw from services at any time by providing written notice.

10. Jurisdiction and Telehealth
Services are provided within the scope of applied behaviour analysis and in accordance with applicable provincial, state, and professional regulations. Virtual services are offered only in jurisdictions where the clinician is authorized to practice, and services may be limited based on client location.
11. Governing Law
For clients receiving services in Canada, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
For clients receiving services in the United States, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, to the extent applicable.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most recent version will always be available on our website. Continued use of services after updates indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
